Sunday Tailgating At Anthem

Sundays between June 28 - August 2

Hopefully, you've already watched my special announcement about resuming in-person, outdoor events (if not, you can do so HERE). Specifically, we will begin having an on-site, tailgate, after-party following the livestream each week. I thought it would be helpful to answer a few questions you may have about why, when and how...

WHY

For the time being, only outdoor religious gatherings are permitted in Marin County. There are a number of growing concerns that we have for Anthem should we prolong being together as a family and community. We no longer think it is wise to hold-out for the opportunity to gather indoors, but instead we should take advantage of what is legally available to us at the present time.

The Sunday Tailgate is the first step in coming together and reopening.

HOW

We have written a Site Specific Protection Plan (SSP) for these events, going forward. Please note the following advisories and modifications:
  • You may begin arriving anytime after the conclusion of the livestream even though the official start time is 12:30p.
  • Cars will be parked every other space to accommodate the social distancing requirements.
  • Parking should be arranged according to social bubbles (more on that tomorrow) when possible.
  • Bathroom facilities will be made available along with respective disinfectant protocol.
  • Children must be able to remain within your assigned space or group of spaces (social bubbles). If you don't think they can handle this, please do not attend.
  • Do not attend if you have a fever or other symptoms of illness.
  • A grill will be made available. One family at a time will be permitted to use the grill, along with other disinfectant protocol.
  • Do not share food, plates, utensils or napkins with those outside your household.
  • You are free to bring canopies, coolers, food and beverages. In fact, you can pretty much bring anything you would to tailgate that isn't for sharing.
  • Masks are required to be on your person at all times.

WHEN

Sunday is an event, again! Beginning 6/28/20 and ending on 8/2/20, Anthem Church will begin tailgating every Sunday after the livestream. We want to reclaim Sunday for the church and for our community. We want to restore the rhythm of "going to church" together, even if it's only for fellowship. We want families to get up each Sunday, prepare their cooler of food and drinks, watch the livestream, then head over to the church.

We want to take the Lord's supper as the gathered bride of Christ...

Finally, we want everyone to freely exercise their conscience, while at the same time, we want to provide a relatively low-risk environment to be together as Anthem Church. Those that choose to stay home are free to do so without condemnation.

With that being said, we look forward to seeing you face-to-face. For more information, visit the events page of our website or the events tab within our app.

(NOTE: The Sunday Tailgate is an official religious gathering of Anthem Church so as to fulfill our responsibility to fellowship in accordance with Hebrews 10:25; Matthew 18:20; Acts 2:44)

"But since we were torn away from you...for a short time, in person not in heart, we endeavored the more eagerly and with great desire to see you face to face..." –1 Thessalonians 2:17

I don't see where to sign up for tailgating.
